Writing your own reviews isn't as difficult as it sounds. Just follow the three simple steps below and soon you'll be banging 'em out like a pro every time you open a bottle!

STEP 1 : CHOOSE YOUR WINERY

Click on the Wineries link to select a winery from the database, or type the name of your winery into the search box in the top right of your screen, and go to the winery's profile page.

STEP 2 : CHOOSE YOUR WINE

Go to the Wines tab on the company profile and choose the wine you want to review from the list. If the wine you want to review isn't listed, you can add it.

STEP 3 : WRITE YOUR REVIEW

On the wine's page, click on Review this Wine to open the review-entry page. We have broken the review down into easy-to-follow, bite-sized steps with notes down the right of the screen to help you if you're stuck. Just follow the prompts on the screen and you will be fine. Trust us! You don't need to use all sorts of flowery descriptions like some of the pros do: just tell us what you think and how it tastes to you.

In the end, the best advice we can offer you is, "Don't be afraid — there are no right or wrong answers in the world of wine." To prove the point, just recently we heard one pro describe the nose of a particular (quite expensive) wine as "kind of rubbery, like a BMX tyre" and another one who remarked, "this wine is more fun than a fat kid on a pogo stick." So be brave and give us your review: everyone will love you for your honesty.

TAKING NOTES

We realise that most of you won't sit down with a bottle of good wine and a laptop as we do, so you may want to take some notes while you're tasting the wine so you don't forget what you have tasted.
